The career coaching provides the opportunity to deal with your questions concerning your professional future in a supportive environment. The programme takes into account your very own experiences and background. Expect four sessions with the following topics: 1) Self-reflexion and competence analysis: We identify your strengths, skills and potential as basis for your professional orientation. 2) Interests and values: Together, we explore your interests and values to make sure that your professional career plans are suitable. 3) Work conditions: We find out, which working conditions and environment fit best for you. 4) Career vision: We help you to develop a clear picture of your professional future. The coaching is made up of four sessions. The dates for the three following meetings will be planned together during the first meeting.

In this empowerment workshop, you will have the opportunity to empower yourself in dialogue with other BIPoC students at the University of Bonn and to deal with experiences of racism in the educational context. We will talk about the forms in which racism and other structures of discrimination as well as empowerment have actually had an impact on our educational path. Together we will ask ourselves: What are our resources to empower ourselves? Where are our limits? What are possible strategies at the various levels of our everyday university life? Together, the two speakers Ifeyemi Erdmann and Shavu Nsenga are active in the counselling collective MAINGA and offer power-critical, intersectional, holistic counselling and educational work. Die Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung ist für Stipendiat*innen aus dem Pathways to Research-Programm vorgesehen. Wodurch zeichnen sich gute Redner*innen aus? Wie spreche ich frei und gleichzeitig souverän? Wie überzeuge ich mit meinem Vortrag? Im Training während des Workshops lernst Du, Stimme, Sprache und Körper gezielt einzusetzen. Ihr übt gemeinsam Techniken der Stimm- und Sprechbildung speziell für Situationen, die für Studierende wichtig sind. So entwickelst Du eine wohlklingende und raumgreifende Artikulation. Entspannungsübungen und Atemtechniken während des Workshops sorgen für eine zuversichtliche innere Haltung, die sich auch in der Sprechweise widerspiegelt. Die Aufwärmübungen enthalten Teamspiele. The participation in the event is for scholarship holders from the Pathways to Research programme. It’s finally time to meet and to get to know your fellow Pathways participants and staff of the Equal Opportunity and Diversity Unit. We will get to know each other in an informal setting. Innovative women who have made history: The exhibition "Patente Frauen - Women Inventors" presents female inventors who are all too often forgotten compared to their male colleagues. Portraits of pioneering women such as Hedy Lamarr (radio remote control as a pioneer of Bluetooth technology), Barbe-Nicole Clicquot (champagne shaking process) and Virginia Apgar (Apgar score) will be wandering through the University of Bonn from 15 April to 22 May 2024. The Transfer Center enaCom is showing the exhibition to mark the annual World Intellectual Property Day (26 April). At the vernissage, everything will revolve around "Women as inventors - opportunities and challenges". Impressions and experiences can be exchanged and deepened at a reception afterwards.
The FEMTEC career program opens the next application round from 15.04. - 05.05.2024. All female STEM master students are invited to apply! The first group of FEMTEC scholarship holders from the University of Bonn started the programme in March with the Winter School. FEMTEC's English-language programme, which runs alongside their studies, prepares female students with a passion for technology for their career entry and offers them a strong network in the corporate world.
