You are queer, new in Bonn and looking for a place to meet other queer people? We want to introduce you to various offers in Bonn and the surrounding area that can help you to build a network, give and recieve support or get involved with LGBTQIA* issues.
Queer-Referat
The first point of contact for queer students at the University of Bonn is the Queer-Referat of the General Students’ Committee (AStA). It addresses all persons who are marginalized because of their sexual, romantic and/or gender identity. The department not only offers counseling regarding coming out, a bi-weekly coffee hour, and counseling for trans* people, but also plans many social events to bring the community together and strengthen it, such as the monthly regulars' table. In addition, the Queer-Referat is also politically active and contributes to education about queer identities, for example through lectures.


SCHLAU Bonn
SCHLAU is an educational project in North Rhine-Westphalia that aims to educate children, adolescents and young adults about queer identities, primarily in workshops with school classes. In Bonn, about 15 people with different queer identities are currently volunteering for this project. r(h)einqueer Bonn e.V.
The r(h)einqueer association was founded in 2015 after the closure of the Gay and Lesbian Center Bonn to continue the organization of the Bonn CSD (Christopher Street Day) under the name BEETHOVENS BUNTE. The association is for all queer people of all ages; it offers a monthly regulars' table and cooperates with several other Bonn contact points for queer people, including AIB and AIDS-Hilfe Bonn, but also GAP and SCHLAU.

LGBTQIA+ Wiki
The LGBTQIA+ Wiki is a dedicated resource for LGBTQIA+ topics, including sexual and romantic orientations, gender identities, and the LGBTQIA+ community as a whole. It gives an overview of all identities under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella for anyone interested in learning more about them.

GAP in Bonn
The GAP in Bonn is a youth center in Bonn that offers a place to meet and network for queer adolescents and young adults (up to 27). In addition to counseling services for queer youth, queer refugees and parents of queer children, the GAP offers weekly and monthly meetings for different groups and a general meeting that takes place every Thursday.
AIDS-Initiative Bonn e.V.
The AIDS Initiative Bonn works in the field of education and prevention and supports people living with HIV/AIDS. It offers free counseling and HIV testing, provides information on safe sex, and organises meetings and self-help groups for those affected.
Pride Bonn e.V.
Pride Bonn has been organising an annual demonstration since 2023 to raise awareness of the rights of LGBTQIA* people. They see themselves as a solidarity-based and intersectional organisation and warmly invite allies to their event.

Queer Network NRW
Queeres Netzwerk NRW advises groups, associations and initiatives on setting up, submitting applications to authorities and foundations, and implementing their projects. They create networks across North Rhine-Westphalia, raise awareness for queer issues and offer training courses and workshops on association work.


anyway e.V.
Like GAP in Bonn, the anyway youth centre in Cologne is aimed at queer teenagers and young adults between the ages of 14 and 27, with the café at the heart of its services. Here, visitors have the opportunity to exchange ideas with other queer people of different orientations, take part in activities and projects, or seek advice from the team. The centre also provides educational work as part of the WiR* (Knowledge is Respect) project.
rubicon e.V.
Rubicon offers counseling, networking and training for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, inter* and queer individuals and groups. They are involved in psychosocial counseling, anti-violence work, migration, ageing, family and school issues, thereby contributing to anti-discrimination work in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Q_munity project
The project ‘Q_munity - Racism Criticism and Empowerment for Queer Youth Work’ is part of the Queer Youth Department NRW and offers expert advice, networking, coordination and financial support for regional projects for queer young people with experiences of displacement, migration and/or racism. Its focus is on promoting visibility, raising awareness and empowerment.
Black & Queer NRW
Black & Queer NRW, a member group of the Queer Network NRW, facilitates events and spaces for Black queer people. Important to the group is an intersectional, discrimination-sensitive approach, the creation of safer spaces, and the facilitation of networking, experiences, and empowerment.
queerhandicap e.V.
queerhandicap e.V. is committed to making queer people with disabilities more visible, connecting them with each other and supporting them. To this end, the association offers counselling services both online and on site. queerhandicap e.V. also works with local groups such as RAR - Richtig am Rand in Cologne.
